The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on January 16, 2023.
Supervisors Dan McGregor and Harlen Anderson, Jr. were present.
Supervisor Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of allegiance to the Flag.
Chairman Dan McGregor made a motion to approve the 2023 Reorganizational Minutes as presented. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to approve the minutes from December 19, 2022 meeting.
Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to approve the Treasure’s report as read and to be filed for audit. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
Supervisor Dan McGregor gave the following EMS reports. For the month of December, Penn State Health Life Lion EMS responded to 192 calls, 8 calls were in Washington Township. They covered 7 of the 8 calls. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 55 calls total with 3 in the township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 38 calls for the month of December, 3 were in the township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 45 calls for the month of December, 3 were in the Township.
Subdivision Plans:
There were no subdivision plans presented.
Business from the Floor:
Resident Caroll Myers asked if there was a sign ordinance for advertising businesses. She has a section of Rt 194 that she has adopted for clean-up and there are so many of these signs on that section of the road. Solicitor Myers said there is not an ordinance.
Old Business:
There was no old business to discuss.
New Business:
Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to exonerate the Tax Collector from collecting unpaid per capita taxes for 2022. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
Supervisor Dan McGregor asked Solicitor Myers what needs to be done to appoint EMS Coordinator Holden McGregor as fire chief for Washington Township. Paradise Twp and a few other Townships in York County have started to do this. Solicitor Myers stated an ordinance needs to be done. Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to have the Solicitor begin the process, including the advertisement of the ordinance. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
Solicitor’s Report:
Solicitor Sharon Myers informed Supervisors she is still working on several enforcement issues with the Zoning Officer. The Stephens issue has been re-filed with the courts. The Supervisors should review the information for Solar Farms in the near future.
Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $6,497.30 and the State Account totaling $1,390.55. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.
Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 P.M. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.
