The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on August 15, 2022.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson made a motion to approve the July minutes as presented. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved by Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. to be filed for audit. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following EMS reports. Penn State Health Life Lion EMS responded to 184 calls for the month of July, 10 were in Washington Township. 9 were handled by Penn State. Northern York County Fire Rescue EMS responded to 31 calls; none were in the Township. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 29 calls, 2 were in the Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 27 calls for the month, 1 was in the Township.

Wellsville Fire Company President, Sandy Brown, provided the Supervisors with the latest minutes from the Fire Company and profit and loss reports. She discussed the upcoming Fire Co. Carnival along with training updates. She also stated the Fire Company is working on a Jr Fire Fighter program.

Subdivision Plans:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson made a motion to approve Floyd Swope Estate subdivision plans for parcel JD-6A, 92 Hofman Rd., as presented by Surveyor Clark Craumer. This plan will separate the existing residential dwelling from the existing commercial salvage yard, which were on the same parcel. No further subdivision will be allowed for this property. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.

Business from the Floor:

Resident Holden McGregor was present to express his interest in the vacant position for EMS Coordinator for Washington Township. He listed his numerous certifications and training requirements for this position. Resident Jennifer Stefanik was also present and expressed her interest in this position also. She presented her numerous qualifications as well. The Supervisors thanked both of them for their interest and will table this issue until next month’s meeting.

Old Business:

Supervisor Dan McGregor reminded residents that the Fall Clean-Up Dates are Thursday September 22nd from 8:00 until 3:30 and Saturday September 24th from 8:00 until 12:00. No Friday hours.

New Business:

Supervisor Harlen Anderson made a motion to adopt Resolution 2022-06, Amendment to the Employee’s Pension Plan as required. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.

There was a request from Penn Dot to do a road abandonment for Lake Road, since the removal of the bridge. Solicitor Sharon Myers will look into the details and requirements.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor, Sharon Myers asked if there was any development on doing the solar farm ordinance yet. The Supervisors have nothing ready at this time. She stated Ordinance 2022-01 will be reviewed by York County Planning Commission on August 16th . This is an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance for transfer of building rights requiring a minimum of 10 acres. She will continue to follow up on zoning ordinance violations at 1970 Ridge Rd. Violations must be in compliance by August 21st.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling

$ 6,858.33 and the State Account totaling $ 7,659.71. Supervisor Harlen Anderson seconded the motion.
