The Washington Township Board of Supervisor’s met at the Municipal Building on June 20, 2022.

All Supervisors were present.

Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:02 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Supervisor Ralph McGregor made a motion to approve the May 16th minutes as presented. Supervisor Dan McGregor seconded the motion.

The Treasurer’s report was read and approved by Supervisor Dan McGregor to be filed for audit. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Dan McGregor read the following reports. Wellsville Fire Company responded to 31 calls for the month of May, 2 were in Washington Township. Northeast Adams Fire & EMS responded to 37 calls in May, 1 was in the Township.

Brian Rodgers, Trustee for Wellsville Fire Company, provided the Supervisors with the latest minutes from the Fire Company. He stated the Carnival is the next big fund raiser coming up. All volunteers are welcome!

Assistant Fire Chief of Northern York County Fire Rescue, Keith Kuykendal, was present and reported that they responded to 43 calls for May, 2 were in the Township. He gave the break down of the calls and details of their training.

Subdivision Plans:

Todd Lyons reviewed information for property owners Jared and Carmen Witmer. They own parcels LD-35 & LD-44J, on the Wellsville RD. They are looking for an answer if there is a building right for LD-35 to transfer to LD-44J. Solicitor Sharon Myers stated she was asked to research the issue but could not comment until she discussed the information with the Supervisors. One of the previous owners was present to express her thoughts on the issue. She stated that the family always thought that LD-44J had a building right. The Witmer’s will be called when the Supervisors have an answer.

Business from the Floor:

There was no business from the floor.

Old Business:

There was an email received today for updated information on the Comcast agreement. This was not listed on the agenda to discuss. Supervisors Dan McGregor made a motion to advertise to have a Public Hearing as required, for the next month’s meeting, provided there is enough time for the advertisement. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

New Business:

There was no new business to discuss.

Solicitor’s Report:

Solicitor Sharon Myers reviewed some of the issues such as ordinances updates and solar farms that need to be addressed by the Supervisors. She will wait for Supervisors to take action on these.

State Police Officer Corporal Kabacinski reported there was 104 incidents in the Township since October 1, 2021. Of the 104, 25 were crashes, 24 were criminal incidents, 16 traffic stops and 4 DUI ‘s. Everyone agreed that speed, especially on RT 194 seems to be the worst problem in the Township.

Supervisor Dan McGregor made a motion to pay the bills out of the General Funds Account totaling $13,387.75 and the State Account totaling $6,640.70. Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded the motion.

Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr. made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:29 P.M. Supervisor Ralph McGregor seconded the motion.
